The observer whispered to Carmen that there was a way for people to ascend and become perfect. He called it infusions. The consciousnesses of multiple people are combined to create a new, perfect entity. Mallory, Aliya, and Liam volunteered to be a part of the first infusion. The first infusion was a success! Mallory, Aliya, and Liam ascended. The infusion was such a success that the observer asked for another one. Trisha, Rachel, Isaac, Charles, and Kai volunteered. Unfortunately, something went wrong. No one other than the observer quite knows why. It is currently believed that one or more of them were not fully devoted.
